Amina J. Mohammed SDGs Data Lab completed
The Amina J Mohammed SDGs Data Lab which is part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant in Kaduna is ready.
The centre will be a data handling and management centre; expected to improve evidence-based decision making and enhance the workplace environment for statistical analysis and data integration

KDBS has published its monthly market price watch for the Month of June and July. This edition provides analysis of price movement of select commodities across the 23 LGAs of the State.
In addition to this month digest, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for May 2018 which measures inflation for certain consumer items
KDBS conducts GDP Y2017/Q1,2018 from 11th June
KDBS is conducting its 2017/ Q1 2018 GDP report and field exercise in partnership with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Governors Forum and the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. The exercise is starting on the 11th of June, 2018 to the 6th of July, 2018. The GDP is a key parameter for measuring the performance of the State’s economy especially its productive sectors
Kaduna Produces 22% of Nigeria’s Maize
Kaduna produces 22% of the total country’s maize and 10% of groundnuts. The state trades’ agricultural produce to neighbouring states. The sector is dominated by wet season planting and an irrigated dry season planting. Most farmers currently produce cereal crops such as maize, sorghum, millet and rice during the rainy season. Cereal crops are exported to surrounding states and are an important source of cash.
Kaduna Agricultural Statistics Survey
The KASS study revealed that crop production is the main occupation among the farming households in the State. Rainy season farming is a common practice in the State and Tomatoes remain the major crop planted during dry season farming. There are 1,322,226 Farming households in the State.People with secondary school education have a flare for agriculture followed by people with qur’anic education in the State.81.3 percent of farmer’s farm 0.1 to 5.99 ha of land in the State.
KDBS is Preparing for Annual School Census
As part of our plan for 2018, we are getting ready for 2018 Annual School Census . The ASC 2018 provides data and indicator metrics on the number of schools in the state and enrollment, retention and drop out rates in the State. This is part of KDBS strategic priority under the Kaduna State Data Revolution Master Plan (KDRMP) and tracking of performance metrics of Government policies and programmes. Watch this space!!!
KDBS is Preparing for Household Survey
We are getting ready for 2018 General Household Survey. This is a critical part of our strategic priorities under the Kaduna State Data Revolution Plan (KDRMP). The General House Hold Survey tracks data indicator metrics on Household income, social and economic factors in the State. The 2018 Household Survey is a very important and critical part of our approach to strengthening Government Policies and Programmes. Watch this space!!!

KDBS has developed an Integrated Online Certified Indicator Portal (Data Lab) for Government’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies to track all indicators about Kaduna State. KDBS as the official provider of statistical data pertaining to Kaduna State has an official mandate derived from the State’s Statistical Act. This provides seamless and transparent access to accurate and recognized datasets on the performance and development trajectory of the Kaduna State.
This tool provides centralized access on official Government approved figures for all the available dataset for consumption and usage by Government entities for development planning and performance benchmarking . This is part of the institutional reform process of standardizing access and reporting of indicator datasets for all Government related MDAs for strategic planning and results tracking.
As a Government User of this platform, you are expected to register on the portal to request for access privileges and rights to the platform. Once profiling and approval are granted. you would be able to enjoy the large number of indicator datasets currently provided by the KDBS.

Our Online Certified Indicator Portal provides the academic community with the ability to use our officially certified datasets for interpolation and analysis using various recognized formats (JSON, XML, CSV) for data & trend analysis and comparison of datasets accross various domains. This tool provides centralised and transparent access to official datasets from KDBS and provides a framework for further collaboration and joint partnership with the academic community for methodology refinement and research & development.
Our compendium of datasets provides opportunities for the academic community to diversify their areas of study by using real life data for research and creating an opportunity for collaborative work between KDBS and the academic community.

Also, we remain the most reliable partner to link administrative data from Government to our survey led activities. This makes us the right partner to engage with.
As part of these transformational journey, the KDBS online certified indicator portal allows the Private sector to order for statistical surveys or requests for partnership and collaboration. In addition, our large compendium of economic and demographic datasets are available for economic decisions as it relates to the “Ease of Doing Business” Index in Kaduna State.
