The CPI Year-On-Year Inflation Rate for Kaduna State accelerated to 11.28% in March 2020. This was 2.39% higher than the rate recorded in February 2020 (8.89%).
Accordingly, Inflation continued in March due to recent restriction of movement, thus causing consumers to spend primarily on essential Goods and Services.
The Kaduna State Bureau of Statistics (KDBS) has commenced processes for the conduct of a General Household Survey to generate data on socio-economic and health indicators for policy formulation and evidence-based planning.

The Amina J Mohammed SDGs Data Lab which is part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant in Kaduna is ready.
The centre will be a data handling and management centre; expected to improve evidence-based decision making and enhance the workplace environment for statistical analysis and data integration

KDBS conducts GDP Y2017/Q1,2018 from 11th June
KDBS is conducting its 2017/ Q1 2018 GDP report and field exercise in partnership with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Governors Forum and the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. The exercise is starting on the 11th of June, 2018 to the 6th of July, 2018. The GDP is a key parameter for measuring the performance of the State’s economy especially its productive sectors
Kaduna Produces 22% of Nigeria’s Maize
Kaduna produces 22% of the total country’s maize and 10% of groundnuts. The state trades’ agricultural produce to neighbouring states. The sector is dominated by wet season planting and an irrigated dry season planting. Most farmers currently produce cereal crops such as maize, sorghum, millet and rice during the rainy season. Cereal crops are exported to surrounding states and are an important source of cash.
Kaduna Agricultural Statistics Survey
The KASS study revealed that crop production is the main occupation among the farming households in the State. Rainy season farming is a common practice in the State and Tomatoes remain the major crop planted during dry season farming. There are 1,322,226 Farming households in the State.People with secondary school education have a flare for agriculture followed by people with qur’anic education in the State.81.3 percent of farmer’s farm 0.1 to 5.99 ha of land in the State.
